Non classéThe weekend of the 23 and 24 of February was a busy one for ARAT, as it started by the association attending and celebrating the first Tunisian ham radio licenses delivery in this millennium. The following day members met in 3V8CB station to work on testing and enhancing the performance of a 260m long beverage antenna. Once the antenna placed, a DX lunch took place, followed by an informal meeting between the association’s staff members in which they discussed multiple points, programs and challenges facing it throughout the year, while waiting for the favorable conditions to be present for the 160m band.

Non classéOn Sunday the 4th 2017, ARAT held its annual meeting at Ibn Khaldoun Hotel in Tunis, with the presence of members from across the country as well as the guest Jean Michelle Lore, ON5QF.
During the meeting, the association’s president Ashraf Chaabane presented a résumé of the activities that took place throughout the year. The presented subjects were:
· Previous year’s Annual meeting.
· Collaboration with the Regulator.
· IARU activities.
· Cooperation agreements.
· On the air operations.
· Projects.
· International activities.
· Communication.
· Association management.
· Gatherings.
· Support to networks.
· Media.
After the presentation, the résumé’s content was discussed in order highlight multiple challenges facing the hobby, as well as propositions and solutions in order to enhance ARAT’s activity one various fields, on an national and international levels.
As usual after the meeting, all participants were invited to a DX lunch.

The activities consisted of making an introduction workshop for young scouts who haven’t got exposed to the hobby, pile ups to contact operators and youngsters around the globe, and ARDF (foxhunting) rounds across the camp centre.
Wednesday the 20th of December is the day where history was written for the Tunisian ham radio world and society, as the first 3V license exams in this millennium of both classes 1 and 2 took place with 12 candidates.

Non classéAs usual, ARAT participated in the 2017’s edition of JOTA-JOTI. For this event, in collaboration with the Tunisian scouts, many workshops and activities had been established, such as radio basics and electronics, in the International Scout Camping Centre of Borj Cedria, Tunisia on the 20, 21, and 22 October 2017. This year the program was slightly different and more dynamic compared to the previous editions. The activities were:
-An electronics workshop moderated by Hannibal H. , a senior ARAT member, consisted of making and testing small and basic FM transmitters.
-an introductive workshop about satellite communication and amateur radio satellites presented by Ahmed B. .
-An introductive workshop about antennas and propagation moderated by Wael A. and Hamza S. .
-A session for introducing ham radio world and establishing QSOs presented by Oussema Y. .
-And for the first time in Tunisia, an ARDF activity took place, moderated by Ashraf C. .
ARAT took part of the IARU-R1 24th conference that took place in Munich, Germany. During this event, many subjects had been discussed, and a vote for the new executive office took place.
